Preparing to Meet with the Lord

How often do you prepare for things? Maybe you prep dinner for the whole week. We often prepare for many things in our daily lives but how often do you prepare yourself to spend some time with the Lord? It is something that has been challenging to me so I would love to hear how you do it.
